My name is Ryan, and I'm the owner and operator of The Boat Wholesaler.
After years of growing The Boat Wholesaler into Ontario's largest used boat dealership, I've decided to slow things down and take a more selective approach to the business.
I'm not leaving the boat business — I'm simply doing it differently.
Going forward, The Boat Wholesaler will operate by appointment only, with no set business hours. I'll be carrying fewer boats than I have in the past, allowing me to focus on what I've always done best: finding good-quality used boats that I would be comfortable owning myself.
Every boat in our inventory continues to be personally hand-picked by me.
I've spent years buying and selling used boats and building relationships throughout Ontario's marine industry. Those relationships give me access to quality trade-ins and privately sourced boats that often never reach the open market.
Rather than filling the lot simply to have a large inventory, my focus is now even more firmly on quality over quantity.
If I wouldn't buy it for myself, I don't want to sell it to you.
We continue to specialize in Ontario freshwater boats.
The majority of our boats are sourced locally through long-standing relationships with Ontario boat dealers, often purchasing trade-ins from customers buying new boats.
Unlike dealers who regularly source inventory from U.S. auctions and unknown environments, our focus remains on boats with histories we can be comfortable with.
Ontario freshwater boats generally benefit from less corrosion, less UV exposure and shorter boating seasons, which can mean less overall wear and a better long-term boat for the next owner.
Our standards haven't changed.
Every boat we purchase is inspected, engine scanned where applicable, and serviced before being offered for sale.
After years in this business, I've learned that buying the right boat in the first place is just as important as preparing it properly for the next owner.

I've built this business on straightforward deals, repeat customers and referrals, and that's not changing.
The Boat Wholesaler started years ago with one boat in my backyard and a garden shed.
Over the years, it grew into a 3-acre facility with a 6,500 sq. ft. workshop and up to 70 boats in inventory. I'm incredibly proud of what we built and the customers we've served along the way.
I've now reached the point where I want to slow down, enjoy life a little more and operate the business on my own terms.
That means fewer boats, fewer hours and appointments instead of regular business hours — but the same standards and experience that built The Boat Wholesaler.
I'm still buying boats. I'm still selling boats. And most importantly, I'm still personally choosing every boat that carries The Boat Wholesaler name.
The next chapter of The Boat Wholesaler isn't about being the biggest.
It's about using years of experience to offer a smaller, carefully selected inventory of boats I believe are worth owning.
